Results showed that Tinder users engaged in appearance comparison more than controls. Their internalization score (measured with such statements as “I do not care if my body looks like the body of people who are on Social Networking Sites”) were also higher.
Unsurprisingly, their body shame was worse. Interestingly, however, only male Tinder users had a lower self-esteem--which could be explained by the repeated experience of rejection.
